Avery's actions
Waste
Pick up Trash
I will pick up and properly dispose of litter on a daily walk through my neighborhood, since stormwater will otherwise carry it to the Puget Sound and/or the Pacific Ocean.
Transportation
Drive Less
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips thus avoid sending exhaust particles and tire pollution into stormwater that impacts Orca and salmon health.
Education
Contact my elected officials
I will contact my local elected officials and explain why I care about Salmon/Orcas and how investment in habitat restoration and acquisition is needed for their survival.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationHow has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Avery Jenkins 10/07/2020 7:55 PMI feel like having access to a good public transportation system in Seattle has been helpful. I'm able to take the bus to a lot of places. However, I do also drive to a lot of places so I am working to only drive when necessary. Right now I'm trying to focus on walking or running to places that are close by to reduce my carbon footprint.
