Participate in one of three upcoming Cover Crop Planting Days Join World Relief at Paradise Parking Plots community garden to prepare their garden beds for winter! Even through a pandemic, the seasons continue to change and the soil still needs to be protected from winter rains. During this work party they will be tilling garden beds, amending with compost, and planting winter cover crop.

I will use rain barrels to collect water for outdoor watering needs because in summer a drop for me may be one less for salmon, which then warms streams or can impair salmon streamflows.

I will plant native species, landscape with water-efficient plants, and stop using fertilizers so my footprint in my ecosystem doesn't harm the Puget Sound and/or Pacific Ocean downstream.

I will prevent harmful storm-water runoff to the Puget Sound and/or Pacific Ocean and increase absorbency by mulching the base of plants and trees at my home or work.

I will engage in nature-based activities alone, or with my friends or family, for 20 minute(s) each day to connect with the shared ecosystem in which I live and rely on. (This can be anything from going on a walk or hike, to noticing the leaves changing color, to reading a book with nature themes.)

I will practice the seven principles of Leave No Trace when doing nature activities alone or with family and friends to minimize my downstream impact in my watershed.

I will plant 10 tree(s) in my community, public parks, or backyard to combat climate change and reduce stormwater impacts to Puget Sound and/or Pacific Ocean.

Start to replace some impermeable surface in your yard, courtyard, or common space with native plants, to reduce stormwater impacts to the watershed and salmon and orca habitat downstream.

Racial inequity is both a sustainability and justice problem. I will support and seek out conservation organizations lead by people of color in my community, as their efforts address environmental justice, Puget Soundand/or Pacific Ocean health.

Recruit 2+ friends/family/neighbors and together remove invasive vegetation from our home/apartment building/neighborhood that is in a watershed upstream of downstream salmon and orcas.
