Kari's actions
Education
Host an informational webinar about rain gardens
In partnership with the City of Everett and WSU Snohomish County Extension, we at Snohomish CD presented about rain gardens today and took questions. We showed the tie from rain gardens to helping with water quality and reducing runoff to our local waterways.
Community
Facilitate a Rain Barrel Pick Up Event
Promotion, emails, delivering rain barrels, giving out flyers, and loading rain barrels to help orcas in Edmonds. :-)
Transportation
Drive Less
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips thus avoid sending exhaust particles and tire pollution into stormwater that impacts Orca and salmon health.
Food
Start or Tend a Garden
I will tend to a garden each day, or work on starting one to keep my food local, minimize my climate carbon footprint and therefore reduce my impact to the Puget Sound and/or Pacific Ocean.
Education
HOST AN INFORMATIONAL WEBINAR ABOUT LIVING WITH BEAVERS
In partnership with the City of Bothell and with help from a Department of Ecology grant, we at Snohomish CD presented about beavers today and took questions. We showed the tie from beavers to helping with water quality and supporting fish and other wildlife. Beavers are the ultimate ecosystem engineers!
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?
