Recent updates from this team-
November 3 at 7:50 AMI bought an additional reusable grocery bag that says "Reduce pollution to our Oceans".
-
October 22 at 7:47 AMI have been using all reusable Tupperware containers for my lunch. I bring my morning coffee in my favorite Evergreen State Starbucks coffee mug, there are a ton of cute & fun reusable containers to get you excited about reducing single-use plastics.
-
October 21 at 7:51 AMI don't consider car washing to be a daily action. I should probably take my car to a carwash more regularly than just not washing it at all to ensure tire dust and other chemical particles are being treated and not running off my car in the rain.
-
October 21 at 7:47 AMI worked with a business whose stormwater discharges to a local creek to mark all storm drains on the property. I also helped the business obtain an Industrial Stormwater General Permit.
-
October 16 at 3:27 PMI usually feel this way after managing noxious and invasive weeds. I feel on top of the world at first but realize that so much work is needed to maintain a habitat for fish and wildlife. The invasive weed populations have gotten almost unmanageable.
-
October 15 at 4:35 PMThe nearest natural bodies of water are less than 1,000 feet away from City Hall! These water bodies are affected by pet waste and bacteria runoff. They are impacted very easily and are salmon-bearing waterways.
-
October 15 at 4:32 PMFlooding is a prominent concern in my area, as well as water pollution.
-
October 14 at 8:19 AMIf I can carry the items with only a bit of a struggle I will carry the items out myself or throw them in my purse. Otherwise I'll load a cart up and bring that to my car. I keep some cute reusable bags in my car trunk for grocery shopping.
-
October 14 at 8:17 AMI use single-use vegetable bags at the grocery store. I can either skip the bag or bring my own mesh ones. I have been using single-use coffee cups sometimes but it has been unsafe to bring reusable cups during COVID times. I try my best to make coffee every morning in a ceramic reusable travel mug.
-
October 14 at 8:09 AMThe EPA has an Environmental Justice Screening and Mapping Tool that shows environmental factors impacting different regions. PM 2.5 is a factor that impacts my region more significantly than others. Poor air quality can irritate the eyes, nose, and aggravate asthma.
